If you are staying in the Barossa, you do not need to drive anywhere to start a wine tour. Every Barossa Wine Tours day includes door-to-door pickup and return from your accommodation, whether you are in Tanunda, Nuriootpa, Angaston, Lyndoch or out near Seppeltsfield. The shared small-group day runs 10am to 4pm for $180 per person, a private day is $250 per person (minimum two guests), and the gin tour is $225 per person. Pickup times and points are confirmed when you book.
Plenty of visitors book a few nights in the valley and then work out how to see the cellar doors without someone missing out. Being picked up from where you are staying is the simplest answer: nobody has to be the designated driver, nobody has to find a park at each winery, and you finish the day back at your door.
Where we pick up
We collect guests door-to-door right across the Barossa, including:
- Tanunda, in the middle of the valley
- Nuriootpa, at the northern end of the valley
- Angaston, on the eastern side, where we are based
- Lyndoch, at the southern end, closest to Adelaide
- Seppeltsfield, Marananga and Greenock, on the western side of the valley
- Williamstown to the south, and Kapunda and Gawler
Staying in Adelaide instead? Private tours can pick up from the Adelaide area on request, and our wine tour from Adelaide collects you from the CBD and inner suburbs around 9am. Our guide to the Barossa towns has more on what each town is like if you have not booked your accommodation yet.

Which tour suits when you are staying in the valley?
The shared small-group day
Our small-group Barossa wine tour is our most popular day. From a 10am door-to-door pickup you visit a minimum of four boutique, family-owned wineries, with a regional platter lunch among the vines, and you are back at your door by 4pm. It is $180 per person, with a minimum of two guests, and it suits couples and friends who are happy to share the day with a few other wine lovers.
A private day, planned around you
A private Barossa wine tour is $250 per person, minimum two guests, and the whole vehicle is yours. We collect you at a time that suits, you choose the wineries or let Kirsty recommend her boutique hidden gems, and a lunch stop is easily built in. It is the one to pick for a birthday, an anniversary, a hens day or a group of friends sharing a house in Tanunda or Angaston.
Gin and wine
The Barossa gin tour runs 10am to 4pm for $225 per person, minimum two guests, combining craft gin distilleries with boutique cellar doors, with lunch and door-to-door pickup included.
Not sure which suits? Our guide to bus, small-group and private tours compares them side by side.
Why a pickup beats driving yourself
Even a few tastings across a day add up, and the rules do not change because you are on holiday. In South Australia, fully licensed drivers must stay under 0.05, while learner, provisional and probationary drivers must have zero alcohol in their system (SA Law Handbook). Our guide to wine tasting and drink driving in SA explains why a tasting day is hard to judge. With a door-to-door tour, everyone can enjoy every tasting, and the driving is done for you in a luxury 8-passenger vehicle.
What to tell Kirsty when you book
- Where you are staying. The name and address of your accommodation, plus directions if it is a farm stay or down a long driveway.
- How many are coming. Our vehicle seats up to eight. For a bigger group, call Kirsty before you book.
- Any wineries on your list. On a private day, bring your shortlist, or leave it to Kirsty.
- Food needs. Let us know about any dietary requirements for lunch.
- Anyone not drinking. That is fine, just let Kirsty know. Guests must be 18 or older to drink on tour.
You can book any tour online through Bookeo, or call or text Kirsty on 0417 799 887 to talk through the day. We are open 7 days, 9am to 6:30pm.
A few tips for the day
- Be ready a few minutes before your pickup time, with water, a hat and sunscreen in warmer months.
- Eat a proper breakfast. Tastings are small, but they add up across four or more cellar doors.
- Leave room in the car for a few bottles. You will often taste wines you cannot buy anywhere else.
- Check our wine tasting tips for cellar-door etiquette and what to wear.
